Information on Prince2
Prince2? is an established method for project management. It covers the management, organization and the control of projects of all shapes and sizes.

It is now widely used in both the private and public sectors, and has become established in a growing number of countries.

It is owned and developed by CCTA (now OGC). The original process employed by CCTA under it's control and direction, was to develop content by engaging with a group of esperts in project management, and subsequently to quality assure and review the outcome via a substantial number of external organisations. OGC continues to develop Prince2 ?, as part of a continuous improvement programme.

The methodology itself defines a process based approach to project management, with inputs, outputs and objectives clearly identified.

It also details a stage by stage approach, ensuring that progress can be properly monitored.

Under Prince2, the whole project is driven by the business requirements, and managers are encouraged to make the process inclusive, often including suppliers and customers.

The intention is that projects should be properly controlled and defined, but with flexibility, good communication.

For more information on the Prince2 project management methodology, please review the various sections of this portal. If in doubt, feel free to ask a question via the forums.
