For the first time I am about to have some IT development work done by an overseas supplier. I am eager to ensure that it is a success as I am conscious that it is likely to be a little more difficult to monitor and control. In particular I want to have a clear process for quality.
As per the Project Quality Plan I would like to clearly define what quality controls and auditing processes I would like to put in place and agree with the supplier. I have prepared a PBS and I was thinking about conducting a review after each product is completed so as to make sure it meets the client's requirements before proceeding onto the next product in the PBS.
In preparation to complete the Quality Plan and the respective Product Descriptions, I would be grateful if anyone could provide me with some guidance on the best way to implement quality control and auditing when dealing with an overseas supplier. If I were to base my process on the completion of each product in the PBS, what is reasonable to expect back from them each time a product is completed (i.e. the actual code or screen shots?).
Any guidance that anyone can give will be greatly appreciated.
