The subject is far too vast to try to cover here, but what I get out of Prince 2 most is the quality plan including the customers quality expectations.

At the start of the project you should create a quality plan detailing the customers quality expectations. The idea being the customer says what the end product/service must achieve, how it must behave, what it must do, look like, feel like etc.

If at the end of the project they are able to tick all the boxes, in theory the supplier has delivered what it said it would, and the customer can sign off the project. In the quality plan the supplier should say what they intend to do to make sure the deliverables meet those standards. As a PM, I expect to be able to see the quality logs to see evidence of quality checks.

It isn't rocket science, or anything new, but because its all wrapped up in the Prince 2 method, I find it encourages people to get sign off and commitment from customer and supplier.

Hope this helps.
