Hi All!

My first post! Very Happy

Just wanted to see if anyone has any advice as to the correct / most approriate ratios of Project manager to project BA's / Tester Managers to Testers, etc?

I know they will probably be very subjective and will depend on the project size, but has any one got any rough rules of thumb?

Cheers,

Gary

An interesting question. If I recall my management studies, this suggested a span of control of upto 6 (1:6), which might be a useful rule. Taking into account the likely frequency of interactions between the Project manager and Workpackage Managers, perhaps this could be increased or flexed depending where in the Project Lifecycle the interactions are expected to occur.

Then again, the more experienced PM might be able to handle a greater span of control.

Have you searched for any studies in this area?
