Hi,

I'm doing some research around software tools for creating logic diagrams / network diagrams / PERT charts etc. I'm trying to find out what the common practice is for these diagrams. Please can anyone help me with the following questions:

When are logic diagrams generally used? What are they useful for / not useful for?
How do people normally produce logic diagrams? What tools can be used?
How is the diagram made available to people who don't have the PM / editing software?
How is the diagram prepared for presentation? (ie Making formatting changes, moving boxes around the page etc)
Is the diagram exported to PowerPoint for presentation? If so, how?

I'd be really grateful if anyone can help me with these questions. Thanks very much.

Clare

Hello Clare

I generally have very good experience with MS Visio. It's easy to use and I find it very suitable for all kinds of diagrams I have needed so far.

It uses its own format, so you can save your diagram and change it later if necessary. Export is very easy, I usually used GIF format, which I imported into Word, PowerPoint etc.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any else such a software tool, because I have always managed with Visio. I also will be glad to hear others' recommendations.
